1. You must have absolute confidence in God’s omnipotence and sovereignty over all things, and you must know that Christ is the truth, the way, and the life. This is a fundamental principle.

2. In your heart you must magnify God, only God must have a place in your heart, and you may not worship or follow any other. You must only depend on and look to God, and live according to God’s words.

3. You must search for God’s will in all things and look to the enlightenment, illumination, and guidance of the Holy Spirit. You must only obey the truth and perform your duty properly according to God’s words.

What is faith? Many brothers and sisters in the Lord think that as long as they acknowledge God’s name, persist in reading the Bible, meeting and praying, and furthermore are able to sacrifice everything and labor, they are believers who have faith in God. But, this understanding is one-sided.  One evening, Chunguang, heavy of heart, was sitting in front of the desk reading Matthew 7:13-14: “Enter you in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because narrow is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life, and few there be that find it.” Though she had read and pondered these two verses many times, she still couldn’t figure out the question about entering the narrow gate and the wide gate.
