II. On the Truth of God’s Name

1. Some say that the name of God does not change, so why then did the name of Jehovah become Jesus? It was prophesied of the coming of the Messiah, so why then did a man by the name of Jesus come? Why did the name of God change? Was not such work carried out long ago? Cannot God this day do a new work? The work of yesterday can be altered, and the work of Jesus can follow on from that of Jehovah.

A Normal Spiritual Life Leads People Onto the Right Track

You have only walked a very small portion of the path of a believer in God, and you’ve yet to enter onto the right track, so you’re still far from achieving God’s standard. Right now, your stature is not adequate to meet His demands. Due to your caliber as well as your innate corrupt nature, you always treat God’s work carelessly and don’t take it seriously. This is your greatest shortcoming.

97. Why does accepting God’s salvation and perfection require enduring so many hardships?

How do you learn how to love God? Without torment and refinement, without painful trials—and if, furthermore, all that God gave man were grace, love, and mercy—would you be able to attain the true love of God? On one hand, during God’s trials man comes to know his deficiencies, and sees that he is insignificant, contemptible, and lowly, that he has nothing, and is nothing; on the other hand, during His trials God creates different environments for man that make man more able to experience the loveliness of God.

94. Why is it that believers must pursue the truth to achieve salvation and be perfected?

Many people say: “I believe in God and I follow in this way, so I’m bound to obtain something. I do not seek the truth but I follow until the end, and I use all my strength to expend effort and to abandon things in the course of my duties. Even if I commit some transgressions, I can still obtain something.” They do not know what they are saying.

90. What is a genuine church life? How should one live the church life to gain understanding of the truth and growth in life?

The Answer from God’s Word:

Some people say: “I’ve led the life of the church for several years, and every day I feel satisfied, every day I enjoy myself.”

You testify that the Lord Jesus has already returned as Almighty God, and that He expresses the truth and is doing the work of judgment. How can we identify the voice of God and ascertain that Almighty God is the return of the Lord Jesus?

Answer: This question is of the utmost importance! To accept God’s work of the last days and behold the appearance of God, we must know how to identify the voice of God.

89. If we have faith in Almighty God with a true heart, continue gathering, read His word, actively perform our duty, and follow Him to the end, is that enough to achieve salvation?

People say that God is a righteous God, and that as long as man follows Him to the very end, He will surely be impartial toward man, for He is most righteous.

Although now is already the last days, know that the “last days” is but a name for an age: Just like the Age of Law and the Age of Grace, it refers to an age, and it indicates an entire age, rather than the final few years or months.
