One day at noon, Fang Shu, dispirited, sat under the big locust tree near his door, thinking: “These years, except for when I had to work, I have spent all of my spare time busying about in the church; I also gained a lot of the Lord’s grace. But recently, the business hasn’t been good, and my stomach trouble flared up again. Why didn’t the Lord protect me? Has He abandoned me?”
